This is a pretty decent copycat recipe, one might even call it one "Hell of a Good" copycat 😜 but seriously the key to this recipe is to not burn your onions, yes it takes a bit of time but don't let them turn black and get crispy.

This tastes best if it has some time to let the love happen, so make it the day before or at minimum give it like an hour to marry otherwise you'll just be disappointed.

Yields15 Servings
Prep Time10 minsCook Time40 minsTotal Time50 mins
1.50 cups Vidalia or Yellow Onion
 2 tbsp Butter
¼ tsp garlic powder1 clove minced garlic also works
1.25 cups Sour Cream Full Fat is best, but its your call
 ¼ cup Mayonaise
¼ tsp Celery Salt1/8 tsp Celery Seed & 1/8 tsp Sea Salt also work
tsp White Pepper Black Pepper works also
  tsp CuminOptional but recommended
 1.50 tsp Parsley Flakes
½ tsp Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
1

Heat butter in a saute pan over medium heat add onions and a pinch of salt and stir. Stir for 30-40 minutes. You may need to add a little water to keep onions from sticking to the pan.

Turn heat down to prevent burning, I'm serious the onions need love not charred they should be a translucent/yellow mushy consistency NOT blackened.

2

Pour sour cream into food processor. Add about a tsp of the caramelized onions and parsley to the food processor. Process until smooth.

Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth/desired consistency.

*Salt/Pepper to taste if desired.

3

Refrigerate for a few hours, overnight is best.

Enjoy!
