1. Heat water to 200°F on stove. (Bring water to a boil, then remove from heat for 30-60 seconds)
  2. Preheat your press with hot water from the tap by filling it to the brim and let it sit.
  3. Place a bowl on a kitchen scale and tare the scale. **If using whole coffee beans, move to Step 4. If using ground coffee, move to Step 6.
  4. Measure out 56g of whole coffee beans. Then move to Step 5 **Depending on the size of your grinder, you may need to do two batches of 28g.
  5. Grind the whole coffee beans to a course grind, similar to sea salt. Then move to Step 7.
  6. OR Measure out 56g of ground coffee. Then move to Step 7.
  7. Remove water from your press. Pour grounded coffee into the bottom.
  8. Place your press onto the scale and tare the scale to 0 again.
  9. Pour 112g of water (double the amount of coffee). Stir and let it sit for 30 seconds. This allows the CO2 to escape and allows the grounds to steep more effectively.
  10. Pour in remaining water until the scale reads 880g.
  11. At this point, place the lid on, plunge the strainer about halfway, pull back up and allow it to sit just below the water level.
  12. Set a timer for 4:00 minutes.
  13. After the timer ends, push the plunger down, and serve. Discard grounds after.

**Easily halved for single servings.

**Whole beans that are freshly ground are always preferred.
